Now I need to find a 144hz monitor. I’m not gaming outside of my steamdeck and don’t do online, so I don’t care about that. But I’m always working with text.

But that’s a really great point. It’s easy to thinking of your threat model as all or nothing. And you are right. I’m not hiding from the law. I’m hiding from advertisers. If the government acquires my information then it was a mistake on their part as there is nothing there to find other than emails from my bank.

I still use a 75hz desktop and 60hz on my Laptop. I can’t tell the difference.

Even looking at the iPhone 15 pro next to a 15 looks the same to me.

My problem with fair phone is that they use old hardware.

I never replaced any parts on my old phone and only replaced the phone with a new one because it was getting really slow. I replaced the xr with an iPhone 15.

So my concern with the fair phone is that I’ll replace it with faster hardware more frequently than I would have replaced a no repairable phone that’s faster.

Not a smoker, but…

Do you drink? Like even just a few drinks per week? Try to stop drinking for 2 months. You can feel part of the addiction, there will be a kind of craving to drink.

I tried to quit caffeine a few times and failed miserably each time. Once I had a terrible headache and felt like I was slowly loosing consciousness. Luckily I was next to a Starbucks at that moment.

Tl:dr it’s faster and more durable but expensive. The article wonders if they are already looking for commercial customers.

This policy is so frustrating for me.

I’m from the US but live in another country.

There are so many apps that are only available in one country or another so I effectively have two phones just so I can access all my banking apps and some streaming stuff.

Someone found some code that referenced geo-blocking features. So if you are physically in Europe, then it should work and when you are outside of Europe then it wouldn’t.

I’m not sure if they plan to use the os with way, but maybe they will.

Maybe turning on a vpn will do the trick.

I’m guessing that they will lock it to Europe for some time, but in the next iOS update roll it out world wide as they see the writing on the wall.

But Apple always seems to find a way to disappoint.

I don’t have experience with them, so I’m not too sure how they work or how reliably they work.

They could also see your MAC address and lookup which vendor that MAC address matches to.

They could then use the cameras there to see who has a laptop that matches and possibly identify you that way.

I’d say if you are going to do it use a vpn no matter what.

They may still lock you out or block torrent traffic, or possibly block your vpn from working. So make sure the vpn kill switch is on in case it suddenly stops working.

I think big companies will have a mix of both.

I think a big job for the remaining artists will be to tweak or improve what the ai makes and then iterate on it.

Yeah, I am not going to bother learning its new name. I’m not calling it x to anyone. If anyone calls it x to me in real life I’m going to pretend I don’t know what they are talking about.
