Got to around 30 yrs old

I realized that I, on paper, really like non-fiction books. In practice, I really only like fantasy and space operas (different than sci-fi)

Every night before bed, I read 10 pages or a chapter. Whichever comes first. Can always read more, but not less.

So to answer,

Almost every night Fantasy / space opera Mid 30s, father I've added audiobooks to my commute The most important part (I think) is figuring out what you like, and then setting a small but achievable routine

I've been listening to the graphic audio versions of The Stormlight Archives by Brandon Sanderson.

I just finished listening to Joe Abercrombie's First Law Trilogy. The narrator was fantastic. Probably the best I've listened.

Check out the graphic audio versions!

As a Canadian, same. And so much more.

Then you get people who spell with Canadian and American spelling and you wonder if you've been spelling things wrong or if once again, American culture is slipping in.

This might be my ignorance, but the Ubiquiti stuff I'm finding seems to be all commercial. I ended up getting a good price on the Flint 2 and it should be here next Friday. I'm hoping to chunk out some time setting it up on the 20th

Thank you for your detailed responses. Has adguard any track record of collecting data? Is there a way to know?

I'll check it out - thanks!

I'll check out mikrotik - thanks!

I don't really understand the rest of what you said haha

Thank you for the reply - you've offered a great opportunity to ask another question 😂

I was looking at adguard. Is this something worth the subscription? I was looking at it because it seems to handle a lot of ads, including those on mobile games and stuff. But in my cursory glance, people are saying it's not safe...

I'll look at the GL-iNet because a) I want a powerhouse and b) I want nothing to do with flashing firmware haha

I need to replace my router as it's coming to end of life. I want one with vlan so I can put all my iot on a separate lan. Any recommendations?

They already send the tv's out at cost to collect your data to sell.

They're starting to ship them with chips in them to send the data away whether connected to WiFi or not

And they're taking screenshots of what you watch, including when you plug in a laptop.

We're almost there

Canada for me!

Any info on getting content from Hoopla or Kanopy? I have a library membership but it is limited in use.

Hello all,

I'm a huge amateur when it comes to this stuff (I had a guy hold my hand on the phone and walk me through this) but I use Newsgroupdirect and buy blocks when they go on sale.

Is there a better group to do this from (or cheaper). I'm happy here but I saw an article that had some different places listed and it got me thinking.

Which group do you use?

I bought a computer off Kijiji that was from someone who builds them for cheap. I bought it for a plex server.

I recently did a hard drive check, and the hd is getting spotty.

I did a check for windows license and it says it's "retail" with a partial key. I was thinking of buying a new SSD to put in but how do I get a windows key now?

I'm somewhat computer minded but this one I've never dealt with. (I also have no interest in installing Linux right now)

Thanks!

What's been the best video you've watched for home repair / maintenance /etc.

I followed this guy for framing my basement https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=p6vq-cOAi0Y

I'm looking for drywall repair videos for dummies (I've done it but it always looks bad...). Of course there's a million different ones, so what worked for you?

I downloaded an apk from mobilism and before I install it, how do I go about ensuring it's not malware or an unsafe app? I'm all for buying apps but I hate all these subscriptions...

Particularly kids shows. I've found yggtorrents but it takes forever to seed. There's a season of TV I want to get for my kids but it's over the ratio I have haha.

I'm not concerned with paying for a private tracker so long as they're trusted. I'd prefer a Usenet solution if that's possible.
