I don’t understand how this was not immediately obvious to everyone. Cult of personality I guess. It’s weird because back then I somewhat admired Elon but even so it was obvious that this idea was totally detached from reality.

That’s fair. It is a well rounded movie. I just didn’t find it exceptional.
Maybe so, but if they did it better then as someone who watched it later it doesn't do much for me.
Well, maybe that's my problem. It's not some grand masterpiece of film and I didn't find it very entertaining. Obviously that's a subjective judgment on my part though.
Unpopular opinion but I don’t think this movie is good lol. I get that it’s very nostalgic and it has its moments but otherwise it’s not too different from any other late 80’s/early 90’s action film. Which is frankly not a high bar to achieve.
Well you asked.
This is a very Eurocentric statement. Many other countries in the world actually have more restrictive rules and mores around nudity than the US does.
But personally I think nudity should be protected as part of the human right to free expression.
Don’t remember this quote but has to be Porco Rosso.
Can you imagine the trauma it would cause if a child were to inadvertently see a nipple? Unthinkably horrible.
Crime is only one factor of safety, it’s just the one people are hyper-fixated because it’s scary.
Most other causes of violent death (car collisions, accidents, suicide, etc.) are much more common in rural areas. And these make up the vast majority of your risk of death.
If you look at illnesses and health in a broader context, the difference gets even bigger but those things aren’t usually considered aspects of “safety”.
Only if you want to use incredible amounts of electricity and occupy a lot of building space. Ignoring those things it may be more efficient but not when you look at the whole picture.
