Does this actually happen though?

I think free will is an illusion so the distinction you are making here is not morally meaningful. You are simply listing some things where science has come to an understanding of the contributing factors and others where it has not. But that does not mean some things are out of our control and some things are subject to it. We are all products of our environments and genetics, none of which we necessarily chose. Some things are just less studied or harder to understand.
Haha fair I meant the second one.
Don’t be evil more than 90% of the time.
Considering that openAI was originally a non-profit with a stated goal of making benevolent and safe AI, I think it’s worth noting how far they’ve fallen from that mission. They were supposed to have a different direction from purely for-profit orgs, but of course the for-profit arm has taken over like a tumor.
To me this pretty strongly confirms my assumption that the board’s attempt to force out Sam Altman was totally justified.
I hope that other non-profits who might have been curious about this hybrid structure see that it was a failure in strengthening the non-profit. I predict any remaining benevolent goals of the organization will be completely subsumed by the for-profit arm, if that process is not already finished.
Holy shit this dude fucking lives on his plane. Like I feel guilty about the 2-3x per year I fly to see family but this fucker has flown that far already in the past week. Why? Does he not know how to do a video call?
Lemmy instances would probably have far fewer resources to fight with. But also more likely to fly under the radar so I don’t know overall.
Hopefully this information is not being retained so until industry players take notice it should be safe.
The courts should not tolerate hidden clauses in pages of legalese that literally no one, not even lawyers reads. If you have a misleading claim advertised that the buyer is more likely to see, then your hidden clause is invalidated.
Could this be the basis for a lawsuit? I mean everyone had to know that this platform wouldn’t last forever, but it’s not as if they’re shutting down completely. Seems like they could easily port this feature over to the new platform, they just choose not to. Is that breach of contract?
Decent cost of living wage increase, then switched jobs to higher pay on top of that. But I was never struggling to pay for food. Housing is the big one in my budget. But I have a fixed rate mortgage so inflation has not affected that.
Seems like prices have stopped increasing much lately too so I haven’t given it as much thought as a year ago.
Yeah I assumed as much. Thankfully my state doesn’t have a lower tipped minimum so this is not a concern for me. But I still tip because servers are still underpaid and I want them to be compensated fairly. Also the public is a pain in the ass so they deserve it for dealing with certain people.
