I love socially interacting with my co-workers. I can just as easily do that over teams. Better honestly, as if I'm focused heavily on a task, I can take a moment to stop at a convenient spot before checking my messages. As opposed to having people literally walk up to me or just start talking to me while I'm busy doing something. The face to face conversation was nice, but the pros far outweigh the cons in my opinion.

I personally will never go back. I have adhd and being able to stay home and thusly have 0 commute time has been an absolute wonder for my well-being.

I dont even have root. You download the apk for the recommended version of YouTube, which the revanced manager app tells you, select it - it auto picks all the patches - hit apply, wait - then hit install. Takes maybe 2 minutes to install. Then you're done. Never once had any difficulty beyond that. One time I used a different youtube version than what was recommended, worked fine just didn't have all the patches.

I dunno why you were trying to sideload it. That's not necessary. You can do all this in, I'll be generous and say 15-20 minutes. I've done it a few times now and done it for others too, so it usually only takes me 5 to 10. Depends on how fast their phone is to patch the apk.

Throw in another minute to fully disable the official YouTube app and route all YouTube links to open with revanced and you're set.

My revanced setup literally shows as "Youtube" and functions identically, with sponsorblocking and adblocking. It let me disable shorts entirely and use the click-bait thumbnail circumventer. Took me 5 minutes to setup. I see a video on any app and click on it and it opens up in revanced no problem.

People act like 5 seconds of effort is worth what, 120$/year? After googling, closer to 160$/year? Lmao I wish that amount of money was inconsequential to me

You don't have to always be ahead. I've been using revanced for years now without problems. Before that Vanced. My computer has had ublock origin with 0 issues for years prior to the recent changes. To resolve those I literally had to click 2 buttons in the UI. Bam no ads. Have had no problems since. The time I've invested in configuring adblocking since I started watching YouTube, sometime around 2008-9, has probably amounted to 20 minutes of time.

It is functionally the same. Allowing fascist thought to exist allows it to spread. Fascism doesn't require specific endorsement to spread. Saying "it is alright if someone says something fascist, there's nothing we should do about that" actually does more to spread it in many situations than explicitly endorsing it yourself.

Fascism is esoteric at its fringes. It is religious in its narrative. It spreads in societies that tolerate it. How you prevent fascism is by correctly punishing fascists. Fascists cannot be given the legitimacy of a debate, they can't be allowed to speak in the first place. If fascists are in your government, if they're in your media, if they speak freely in public, then you've already lost.

No it's fascist because it is specifically media created to propagate a fascist conspiracy theory about queer people being pedophiles who should be restricted from public life and who should face medical legal and social discrimination across all levels of society.

It's fascist because it's literally part of a fascist movement. I'm not using that word liberally, I am literally saying that this media and the movement it's a part of is fascist. That it is comparable to media produced by Nazi Germany about queer people. That it is comparable in narrative structure to Nazi conspiracy theories, and other fascist narratives from fascist Italy and fascist Japan.

This song does not exist in isolation. It's creator, the man not the 11 year old singing, spreads outspoken hatred about LGBT minorities. That in and of itself is absolutely a part of the present day neofascist movement.

Allowing fascism to spread is allowing censorship. Choosing not to censor fascism is choosing to allow intolerance to become mainstream.

You call for a utopia of free speech where even Nazis can live happily alongside the minorities whose deaths they call for. Such a utopia does not exist. It's impossible. The fascists will go around to all other members of this "utopia" and by force coercion and indoctrination convince them to come together to murder the minorities. Then having done so they will censor all thought that does not align with their hatred and their conspiracies.

Tolerating fascism is the same thing as propagating it.

True. This song is current and plays very outspoken into a hate narrative that is tolerated by mainstream culture and is having real impacts on people today. Not that homophobia isn't also a part of this same thing but. This song was written with only the purpose of promoting this specific fascist hate movement. Fascist media shouldn't be tolerated anywhere by anyone. Tolerating them is the first step towards legitimizing them. A tolerant society must excise fascism from its roots wherever it should grow. We have already failed in this, but the least we can do is condemn fascists and the organizations that harbor their content.

We can see how it makes the translation and verify that it's making accurate judgements based on the data it's being fed. We can check the AI against controls too, other scrolls that we know what they say already and feed it data on them until it gets very accurate on those ones. Then apply that model to these unknown scrolls.

That doesn't mean one doesn't exist. Think of how far video transcription has come in the last decade. AI will absolutely surpass human ability to quickly and very accurately translate text.

You can do the best you can, check actresses pages check out studios research film crew. You can do a lot to try and determine whether the content you're consuming was consensually filmed or not.

Can you ever be 100% sure? No, you can't. And that's why I do not watch it and never will.
