I really want to sign up for Beeper, but the fact I have to give them my phone number to sign up for a waitlist seemed like a red flag. How is their security profile?
Can I get a summary?
I maintain that this had something to do with a disagreement over which commercial applications are permissible for GPT-4, and that Sam Altman somewhere along the line negotiated a deal that allowed some actor to participate in one of the "forbidden applications" by proxy via a seemingly unrelated agreement. I'm talking Financial Forecasting (High Frequency Trading), Military, and Policing/Surveillance. Now that Sam's back and unfettered, I'm guessing we are going to see some of those applications come out into the light.
A heat pump pulls heat from the ambient air and accumulates it in the tank, unlike a conventional water heater which uses combustion or a resistance heater to generate the heat from an energy source. That is why heat pumps are generally much more efficient than other types of water Heaters, including on-demand Heaters which have a very high instantaneous load.
Heat pumps do have their weaknesses though, specifically they lose efficiency the colder the ambient temperature is, so if you live in the arctic circle this might not be the technology for you.
There are a lot of rooms in VR Chat that let you do this, and you can actually meet and interact with people this way pretty readily. The libraries on there are extremely impressive, must be pulling from a torrent repository like a Stremio extension or something. Anyhow, I recommend giving it a try if you don't mind the VR headset resolution. You can of course also run this on a Desktop, which for this purpose has some advantages.
If you are talking about a service/app to match you with people to watch a movie together with in person, you could try MeetUp, or one of the dating apps. Nothing ideal that I know of, honestly would make a decent app idea
Windows Defender bad?
This is devolving into the worst way this could have gone. If he had spun of a new startup at least it would have provided real competition to GPT, building out in-house Microsoft models when they already have OpenAI license is ick.

I think the Israeli government is authoritarian, and their scorched earth tactics against Palestinians are war crimes, but you're not doing the cause any favors by invoking the Nazis. Criticize their actual behavior.
I actually hope that some dev work goes into providing "premium features" for paying subscribers. Things like profile cosmetics, awards, "superlikes", gif embeds, maybe sub only communities/threads. I view all of these as perfectly acceptable premium features that folks pay for on platforms like Discord that don't deter free users. If it helps make instances sustainable and keeps high quality admin & moderation in place, I would argue it would be a big community benefit.
Another possibility is instance - as - affiliate where the admin sets up affiliate accounts with services like VPN, Amazon, a web host, etc. To enable users to buy things they would already and give a kickback to the instance.
