No one is being manipulated. The company is handing the stockholders their own profits. Dividends are the same thing, just taxed differently.

put this money into the stock value itself instead of the company

It's the same thing.

manipulating the stock price

It's not because they announce it way ahead of time. Manipulation would be Apple buying a bunch of stock right before they announce the new iPhone, then selling after the announcement. That's very illegal.

Giving money to existing shareholders is completely legal (as long as you give it equally per share) because it's the shareholders' money. They own the company.

They won't for much longer. Assigning you to a crappy project may just be a way to get you to quit. If you don't, you may be in the next round of layoffs.

You may not want to work somewhere that has no direction anyway.

True. The UK has downgraded as a country since leaving the EU. You guys have only mildly better benefits than the US and a lot of things are more expensive.

You're a freaking island. Why would you leave the best trade agreement you'll ever get??? For a different colored passport?!?

The US, EU, China, India, etc. are all sending you the back of the line for trade negotiations. If you're lucky, you might get the same terms as Mexico.

Yeah, just forget about Byzantine Greece, Venice owning Greece, the Ottomans owning Greece, Nazis invading and conquering Greece, the Civil War, a dictatorship, and finally the current Greek government. Other than that, just one unbroken line of greekdom.

China changed dynasties every few hundred years. Saying that the China from 2000 years ago is the same as today is like saying ancient Greece or Rome is still around today. China is not even the same country or culture as 75 years ago.

They're promising

I guarantee it will be louder than that. Unless the flight path is directly over a senator's house or an historic golf club (where donors play), it will be too loud.

Literally make the flight path over the richest part of town or I won't believe it.

Why would that matter? English has 300 million more speakers than Mandarin. India is the largest country in the world and they speak English.

So it's just "true" period.

English is the most spoken language in the world.

As many other people have explained, more lanes are not the main solution. Going from 1 to 2 or 2 to 3 may help, but any more just creates more "induced demand" and more traffic. More cars on the road guarantees more traffic.

There are highways, major streets, and side streets all over LA and NYC. Traffic is still terrible.

You forgot the most important issue: Tesla drivers are not representative of the average driver. They have more money and more education. They live in places with nicer weather. These all contribute to lower crash rates without self driving. I bet high end Mercedes have lower crash rates too, because people don't defer maintenance and then drive them crazily in the snow.

Compare apples to apples and I bet Teslas have average crash rates for luxury cars.
