Ignorance? Ego? Delusions of grandeur?

So you have met top programmers? Then why are you asking?

I guess, but usually "these days" doesn't include last century (80s and 90s).

You said:

Yes but one of the primary ways corporations are making money these days is by not hiring enough workers and not paying current workers 3x the salary even though they're expected to do the work of 3 people.

Why would you say "these days" when that has always been the case, except for a short period from 1940 to 1980?

I wrote that comment. EPS isn't technical, it's just the amount of profit made per share. It existed when Andrew Carnegie was around.

these days

Do you think JP Morgan or Andrew Carnegie were generous with their workers? Only when they had to be.

GM has increased their EPS by 50% over the past 4 years. That 40% increase actually seems appropriate, although I think the amount is too high. Basically it started from too high a number, but 40% seems ok.

She is not in charge of the stock price. Her job is to make sure they make money. She has done that.

Warren Buffett will buy and sell quickly if his investment meets or exceeds his targets. Berkshire Hathaway has a stock portfolio in the hundreds of billions of dollars.

What he won't do is act without a plan. He has a unique ability to see long term advantages, that's why he holds over the long term. Short term opportunity exists too, but many people who look for it are impatient.

Reality Labs

I don't even know what that is.

Threads

I forgot that existed until you reminded me.

Facebook is Facebook. All these social media companies will be passe in 10 years and gone in 20 anyway.

Exactly. Use cloud for off-site backup and things that need flexibility.

You don't need any of that to run a basic website. You can almost use an old laptop or PC for most static applications.

Your relatives have a "desire to believe" that Jewish people control the US government. You can't disprove desire, just each individual belief that arises from it.

Your best bet is to point their desire out to them. Maybe ask if there is anything that would disprove it. When they say "no", leave it at that. Let them realize that their belief is based on opinion not fact.

This only works with people with whom you have a good relationship.

Just block the words "Elon", "Musk", "Twitter", "Tesla", and anything else you don't want. I think every app has the capability.

You will never miss anything important. When "Enron for Cars" goes bankrupt, you will hear about it.

unless you want Hello World, and even then I'm sure it would find a way to introduce a bug or two.

"Greetings planet"

D'oh!
