Reddit is boring and dumb because they insert a million sponsored posts. Plus the karma farmers are going overboard. It's just karma farmers and advertisers now.
You aren't looking hard enough. California has decent prices on lots of food because the farm is only hours away. There's no $9 ground beef unless you get it from the farmer's market. Also, just go to Berkeley Bowl.
They were never going to be big without breaking hotel regulations. It makes no sense why they're big anyway. They don't own any real estate. They should take 5% at most, like a payment processor.
Calm down. The bail system needs work and has been revamped in many states. People shouldn't be sitting in jail unless they are a current danger or after they have been sentenced.
The length of time involved in court cases is due to the limited number of judges, lawyers, court clerks, etc. All of these are skilled workers who work more than 50 hours per week.

The food delivery person sees a potential job come in and can accept or reject it. In a few seconds they decide what to do. If it takes them 10 minutes to go to the place, 10 minutes to wait for the food, and 10 minutes to drive to you, they estimate a total of 30 minutes of work.
Of course they're not going to do it for no tip. There are plenty of other people tipping. Your food is going to wait for somebody to pick it up for whatever minimum amount DoorDash guarantees them. Maybe there is a second order going in your direction.

Hair, makeup, nails, and outfits are what it costs for a woman to just go outside, not to prom. A regular ass haircut can easily be a hundred dollars. I didn't even mention all the skin creams that make you look "naturally beautiful". Have you even heard of waist trainers?
A lot of women, especially in NYC, are doing this regularly even when they don't have a date. NYC is lopsided with more women than men. That's how they get dates. If you know any women who don't put much effort into their appearance, you start to realize they don't go on many dates.
