Why terrifying?

I recall a time when Oxygen was meant to be a light touch, when did it become like this?

Well, it is nice to automatically label who's who in my photo collection...

Where I am, doxxing is illegal. What this person in the article has done can get them arrested.

No expectation of privacy in public spaces is for use like photos and videos that just record you, not track you. This isn't no expectation of privacy, this is expect to be identified publicly, it's definitely a step above.

Yea, they'd be the last holdouts for a headphone jack too, I'm sure.

That says more about your society that it feels a phone is worth stealing.

I'm glad they mentioned cost. Being a person with disability costs in really ridiculous ways. I learnt that a simple Bluetooth two-button device to use with phones costs U$400. WTF?

I think they need to hurry and offer it in more countries. Been seeing the "we don't sell in your country" message for too long now.

Just want to add, people are also not putting much content online in the way they used to. Between the want to monetise (which leads to ad-filled SEO sits or YouTube channels), or the dopamine-hit of getting likes, content is getting harder to find as well (the latter tends to be in walled gardens that search engines don't get to index).

It's not just friends; I cannot do my work in my past three jobs without WhatsApp, because that's how ingrained it is. And they were varied jobs too.

Client interactions? WhatsApp
External stakeholders? WhatsApp
Public enquiries? WhatsApp

No WhatsApp, no job, no income. That's how ingrained it is.

Is there an environmental cost to the tags? Just wondering. It'll be most useful for things like supermarket checkouts, but the hassle of applying tags to FMCG products sounds like an absolute nightmare in labour.

Uniqlo here already does that, it's quite magical when it happens.
