Terrible idea, it will be found with absolute certainty if you're arrested.
Yeah that's not even remotely the same type of sensor used in robotics and autonomous cars. Yes lidar is getting cheaper, but for high detail long range detection they're much more expensive than the case of your iphone example. The iPhone "lidar" is less than useless in an automotive context.
The original roadster is just a lotus Elise with a terrible DIY EV mod thrown in to it.
Those are called "bars" and not bricks, it even says so in your link. So technically it cannot qualify as the world's most expensive brick since it isn't a brick at all.
Can't do that here though

EK has over 230 water blocks, 40 liquid cooling kits, 85 reservoirs, 40 pumps, 73 radiators, and 212 miscellaneous accessories.
Damn, that seems like a ridiculously large product lineup for such a relatively small niche market.
Yeah that really sucks
Their hourly rate is certainly lower than my local shop.
you "have to" bring it to Tesla for repairs and service
That's some big ass quotation marks, because it's not true at all. I've only had mine fixed by Tesla when it was a warranty issue. The service I've had done (brakes, general checkup and AC) have been done by a local shop without any issues. Had a fender bender that was fixed by a local shop too without any issues.
If the US decides to ban it then that's a move from the Chinese playbook. Don't be like China.
It has a bit of the same vibe as the "tolerating intolerance" paradox.
Well that's a big ol' "whoosh" on me then 😅
