If you watch the guys over at hexbear and lemmy.ml thats a good thing because censorship is good, because it secures societal peace. I wonder how they explain that thousands of people use these tools then.
Weird article. They present a 3+ years road map for upcoming chips but at the same time call that 'life support'. Something doesn't add up.
Not only someone using iMessage but at the same time not using Signal or Whatsapp? Thats the first time I've heard of either of these two.
Its not open source, but if you really want to you can use an offline version. In this case no data gets shared at all.
I use Typewise. A swiss company, by far the best keyboard layout and they don't use any data from what you type.
WhatsApp for the older generation, Signal for the younger (Germany).
Its not really a problem being restricted to the US and Canada since they are the only countries having that 'problem'. No one uses iMessage outside of the US.
SMS is by far the worst standard. If you care about privacy use Signal or even WhatsApp. They both are far superior.

Spotify made this quarter the first time a profit since it existence. So if you think artists aren't paid enough, its either of these three:
We pay too little for consuming music.
The record labels take a too big share.
Spotify is really inefficient and could pay out more if they work more efficiently.
The only thing not possible is Spotify taking all the profit since they don't make any.
