My SO hadn't seen House so we're doing it now. It's going slow because while it's a great show, it's a little too formulaic to be binge-able. We're in the next to last season now.

I recently finished a Frasier rewatch which actually made me realize I'm not sure I EVER finished the last season. Still a great show but I doubt I'll watch the reboot.

Me too. Locally. Not transmitted back to a server somewhere.

I'm not sure if privacy respecting means the same thing here but step one of the setup for Smart Launcher is "agree to send us your app list so we can categorize it".

Thanks for the recommendation but it doesn't sound like what I'm looking for.

I'm a Nova user also. I stopped updating before the buy out but this version is still working great and no issues. I would love for there to be an open source alternative with the same features but I need the same things you do.

  • Swipe up alternate app launch
  • Tabbed app drawer
  • Folders in the app drawer

Changing the text wrap type is usually the answer but I swear Word is really just obtuse when it comes to getting a layout right. I've made many training documents in Publisher instead just to have better control over layout.

I've been wishing for play pause since audio books and podcasts came into the world. It's ridiculous that nobody has this button in 2024

Congrats on the new Subaru. I also happily paid for the app using the introduction 3 year plan. Hit me up when you hit year 4 and see the REAL price tag they charge.

The ridiculous (and strangely beautiful) form factor is the only reason we're talking about it. At this point, if you want to launch a product and get eyeballs on it, you partner with Teenage Engineering and lean into whatever comes out as a result.

It's probably not going to be an actually useful device but it would have been even less successful if it was an app.

I thought the same thing when my Disney+ rate went up a couple months ago and I couldn't find the email warning about it in my inbox or spam folders.

Why do we let these companies get away with everything? If the rates are going up, show me in the app/ui. Make it opt in. Disable my ability to watch anything until I approve the increase in spend. It should be illegal to just change the terms of a contract and say "I sent you an email."

I'm pretty sure that's how Hulu started. A joint venture through several companies to stream all their shows. Problem is once Disney got in everyone else tried to spin up their own and cash out of Hulu.

It'll be investing to see what alternatives crop up one piracy makes it's comeback.

Once upon a time it was worth it for me too. But since every service is running up the rates, I had to decide which, if any, deserved my money. Google didn't make the cut. I have a feeling nobody will by the end of year

My Disney price went up and I didn't get the email warning. No message or warning in app. After having their support tell me "too bad" I just cancelled it and Hulu.
