Boost for Lemmy. It's got ads and closed source but it's by far the best app I've used.
I'm SO fucking stoked someone else has heard of it!! I've not seen the original TV show (just read the book) but I heard it was a great adaptation and it's defo on the list. With it being so long since I read it though it'll be quite fresh cos tbh I can barely remember the story! ๐

It's funny but so much of what the West knows about Japan is from this book! Ideas like the 3 hearts and that kami inhabit all things. Baths beign a big part of Japanese culture. Similar to how Lord of the Rings established so much fantasy - Shogun established so much Japanese culture in the West.
I dunno why but they wanted you to comment your name, age and location in a welcome channel. I did and they screenshot and shared it in the main channel. Most of the people are around 16-19 with a few 20-25yo. I didn't know that til I joined though!

It also seems to attract a younger crowd - I had to state my age to join one server and the mod screenshotted my info and everyone laughed calling me "boomer". I'm only 40 (Millennial) and it wasn't a gaming or specifically teen-server. It was a silly ironic European Reddit server.
The subreddit seems to have a range of ages. The Discord server is a bunch of kids commenting capybara and cat emojis like it's funny. :/
It feels like a clown phone/tablet it's so much bigger! ๐
