Can't development just be moved out of the US? Like in my country even downloading copyrighted materials isn't a crime, only uploading so emulators are like double legal.

This is only true if you need news or opinions. You can't really search Lemmy for technical questions or search for a specific site which are my main usages of a search engine.
Personally I dont see the appeal in the short video format in general and I really don't understand why it has become so popular.
How they replicate with spores, the string like structure of their root equivalent and their internal structure are the most disgusting parts for me.

The copyrighted material has no business being used for AI training anyways. Like why train AI to write books or make art when you could feed it documentation and teach it data entry instead like stuff that would actually work well for this and wouldn't require copyrighted works.
