Right now. I just tuned out all the complaining and assumed that it was a skill issue.

You can feel that way. but I see it as supporting the product not the people. When I think of the people behind the biggest social media companies in the world they're awful far worse than some tankie larper online and the product is worse.

Mastodon does refuse to deal with its issues but i wouldnt say that about Lemmy. Lemmy just has a very small dev team working off no funding.

Sweet I linked it to my spotify. This is exactly what I was looking for to help me move away from spotify.

I think staying with cortana and focusing on making that a useful feature would be a better strat. It would be cool to have a little cortana robot inside your computer helping you with various tasks.

5 mins, new Zealand. The voting places are super empty because they open for multiple days.

And we can predict what will happen pretty well and adapt to the situation dynamically. Our only weakness is that we do stupid shit like drunk driving, speeding and not paying attention.

Lemmy does pretty much everything I want from this medium of communication. Wishlist features would be:

  • A better way of linking posts, I see that there is an extenstion that fixes this issue but it would be nice for new users if this was built in
  • Account migrations
  • Multi Communities
  • A way to assign a #tag to a community. For example If I make c/MMA then I would want every post there to federate with the tag #MMA and every post tagged #MMA to show up in c/MMA
  • A way of scheduling posts within lemmy.
  • Maybe a little icon that shows where things are being posted from. So if I see a user with a mastodon showing up in the feed with a formatting mistake ill know why.
  • An option to follow a thread so you can be notified of all new comments even when its not your thread.
  • It would be nice for instances to have a monthly server cost that tracks donations. I couldnt find any examples except reddit but something like this sitting in the sidebar would help show users how much these stuff all costs. There could be one for instances and development cost goals.

Thats a good point. I cant wait for that stuff to become more widely available so we can see how that impacts things.

I still think the technology would be getting pushed forward even if it was only slightly better than humans. However it is far safer than humans which is why its growing rapidly in application.
