Just hope you're never involved in an accident, they're generally pretty shitty safety-wise.
It's opt-in...for now. It will probably be mandatory to use the browser in the near future.
YouTube is willing to host a lot of videos that they make zero money from, at their expense
That's just not true...they're hosting it because they data-farm the living shit out of both the creator and anyone that gets tangentially close to their site. More content = more people visit = more data on these people = more money...They make a lot of money on this data, even if no ads are shown on a video, and are by no means doing it out of the goodness of their heart.
Pretty much every large culture, religion or empire in the history of the world is one of murder, invasions and genocide. That's kind of how they get big, and it's in no way unique to the modern (last couple hundred years) western world. History is littered with psychopaths all over the world attempting to conquer the world and slaughtering everyone in their path to greatness.
Seems fair TBH, you're easily sending TBs of data through it, that's not the intention of the free tier.
That can't be a production product...God damn it i would be pissed if i paid for something and it turned up looking like that.
Of course it's better than nothing, at its definitely working OK, but gaming on Linux is still not quite good enough in terms of user experience. Average users don't want to, and honestly they shouldn't, debug just to play their game...
No you won't, because even if everything is perfectly specced you'll encounter unforeseen issues during implementation. So you'll either overestimate or underestimate the time required.
