I dont see the issue here. Series A investment is normal. I am glad to have a federated alternative to twitter. I know people here hate it but federation is just way more comfortable to use.

It's not and its not really one of the reasons. A lot of us are on reddit as well and facebook used to be very popular. Our privacy concerns are a bit weird. On one hand we distrustef google street view so much that google gave up on the other we use our full names on facebook and have our last name on our door bells. I think the real reason so many of us are on reddit and the fediverse is just that we are 84 million people and enjoy it to talk in german where we can. More populous countries often either have less available internet or speak english natively or are more comfortable speaking english than us.

Nazi symbolism is forbidden and some slogans. One of the leaders of AfD was recently fined for using one such slogan. The secret service tasked with protecting the constitution (Verfassungsschutz) is watching the AfD and a mechanism to outlaw the party is currently worked on. We need to wait for the repost of this secret service to really start the mechanism. Once started it is estimated to need at least 4 years to get a result. So even if successfull the AfD will be in the government in a lot of states till then and possibly be in the federal government.

Germany is slow when it comes to prosecuting the far right. Usually when there are big protests against the far right the police distracts from them by arresting former member of the far left terror organization RAF which has been inactice for decades.

Nothing the right stands for or wants brings any real value. Why should I respect anyone picking stuff from that side?

Centrists have no spine to position themselves clearly. They constantly love to say both the right and left are equally bad, which is an insanely amount of false balancing to say wanting equality for all and deporting people and/or punishing people for their gender are things that are in any way comparable.

Germany definitely counts. The AfD is above 20%, in some states they might even govern alone. They probably will be part of the next government after the next election and they definitely are fascist.
