I used Hugo for my portfolio site, and it's great if you like an existing theme, but making one from scratch is a challenge. The documentation is unclear and there's a chicken and egg problem about how to learn Hugo.

The go templating is OK, I prefer other syntax but it works.

c/ for community

But linking to communities needs the exclamation point and the server instance too

Sandbox games, back in the day I would be creative and have fun playing these but now I prefer watching someone else do that.

Pvp/story games I enjoy playing though.

My fps tanks, but I'm using an Nvidia card. Max 30fps when I can get 90 on Windows.

Also the Xbox integration for the party system took a long time to fix. Maybe just a Pop_OS issue tho

Not true, many games still don't work well on Linux, see any Forza game, and even CS2 doesn't play nice on Pop

Yeah I'm on a 3070, I thought Pop had improvements for Nvidia stuff which is why I chose it.

Its not that I don't believe it, rather they are "selling" Linux as if there won't be any problems, but whoever is making the switch will have to learn about troubleshooting. That's a good thing, but something that they should be aware of.

I get that, and I love Linux, it's just annoying to see people say that they switched with 0 issues and trying to sell it off like people won't have problems.

I just switched from W10 to Pop_OS and have had lots of trouble. I'm trying to stick with it but from audio glitches to many games not running unless I find a random CLI arg that someone mentioned on Reddit, to my UI freezing, it's not been an easy switch.

Instead of biting my nails or playing with a fidget toy, is there a skill I can learn/practice?

Like rolling a pen/coin through my fingers or something like that.

I currently live in California, but it's literally impossible to afford to buy a house.

Where are some good places to move to? I was thinking about Washington State, but I'm not sure I could handle the snow.

I'm old enough to know that I should put them on 1 leg at a time, but I never got out of the habit.

When scrolling Lemmy (compared to reddit in the past), all I see is doom and gloom / news. I don't see interesting conversations or comments to read.

Occasionally I'll find something, and I've been contributing more, but there's just so much doom that it fills my feed.

I've had to unsubscribe from many communities bc it's just doom news reposts..

Is it just me?
