Android is very far from linux desktop. And it is private, its is google services that are bad, therefore we can have things like calyx and graphene os still be private.

I agree with the ukraine example, but that argument is mostly about a "revolution", as in trying to create a democratic socialist society, by having a small group of people take up arms and impose it on everyone else.

I have been seeing plenty of guillhotine and mollotov jokes here, and as the title says, punching nazis.

I've been reading a book about nonviolence and anarchism, and he basically shows how we shouldn't use violence, even in extreme cases (like neo nazis).

The main argument is that the means dictates the ends, so if we want a non violent (and non opressing) society, punching people won't help.

And if it is just a joke, you should probably know that some people have been jailed for decades because of jokes like these (see: avoiding the fbi, second chapter of the book above).

Obviously im up for debate, or else I wouldn't make this post. And yes, I do stand for nonviolence.

(english is not my first language, im sorry if I made errors, or wansn't clear.)

(the book is The Anarchist Cookbook by Keith McHenry, if you are downloading from the internet, make sure you download it from the correct author, there is another book with the same name.)

This is basically the doing of the futo non profit, they ate testing out if open source software can be profittable.

Louis Rossmann has a lot of videos about them (he works for them)

From what I get, you can just use it for free, but they don't say it is free to compell more people to buy it.

Hey guys, I have been seeing a lot of people talking good things about noscript, I have a few questions about it:

  • Why isn't it open source? Is there a open source alternative? To me this kinda feels suspicious, installing an extension that can affect all tabs from outside the Mozzila store, while not even open source...
  • How to minimize damage? After briefly trying it on, I couldn't interact with lemmy anymore, many websites lost their dark mode, youtube wasn't pausing the video, nor was the like button working...
  • Is it really needed? What kind of threat model makes something like that needed? Wouldn't it be possible to just add other sources for uBlock to block tracking scripts or something?

I am Brazilian, so they are really common, and wild, people drink piss, shave peoples hair, ruin people’s clothes, get drunk, and once a person even died, how are they, if they exist in you country?
