It always makes me wonder what delicious flavors nature has provided that I'm missing out on. Just like Banana's in the states, we have a "main" variety of apple which is "Red Delicious" (it's just a name, not delicious). This abomination is the prettiest picturesque apple you've ever seen, but it tastes like cardboard compared to any other apple species. I wish we still had access to all the different varieties of banana's that used to be around but guess we've fucked that one up.

ok, I was gonna be facetious and post the video mockingly but it's actually kinda funny. It seems from the clips it actually tries to follow the ball but keeps getting distracted by the referees big beautiful bald head. Future AI-AR(artificial resources instead of HR) discussions probably like, "wtf guys? You told me to track these things!?!"

who's y'all and what are they trying to convert you too? Are 'they' in the room with you right now?

Glad you aren't addressing any of the critiques and just gonna continue living the meme. Also, you should learn that there's a neat little feature called sorting, there's a controversial selection that's really handy for shit takes to pop up in the first few comments!

I'm most definitely looking at the complainers right now to see if they're actually listening or have just been harping the same shit for a year and now trying to blame everyone else for the problem. We need to flush out this "woe is me" crap, as if people haven't been wondering for decades how they're going to be protected or how could democracy possibly survive in such a capitalistic and corrupt system.

D's lost, I wanna get back on the field and train with new strategies and directions. There's just a bunch of butt hurt locker boys who wanna complain about members of the team instead of learning to work together in a different way.

Oh no, mean spirited comments that don't actually add anything useful!!

This you?

BuT BiDeN nEeDs To EaRn My VoTe!

If we manage to avoid a fascist takeover, it will be in spite of the naive progressive idealogues who think they have the privilege to vote their conscience.

It's.... almost as if you do need to earn people's votes after all. Everyone already spelled everything out to you almost a year ago on changes the Dems could make but still you're wondering what Step 2 is?!?

Dems: We've tried nothing and are all out of ideas!, Third party, absolutely not!

I've been seeing gross stuff all around about voting records. For context that matters, I live in NC. It's fucking non-stop from all sides. I'm trying to find the ad I saw with a relative while over at his place that played on Tubi that he was watching. I just heard it in the background while I was cooking and was flabbergasted. This ad was very clearly anti-Trump but then commented on your vote is registered and can be seen (completely false) with a threatening overtone. It went by so fast, both of us asked wtf just came on and I assured him his vote is private but they can check "IF" you voted (he's an independent and primed to believe the worse of all scenarios thanks to social media and news, but is mindful when he thinks for himself).

I doubt it was anything like the actual DNC making the ad, was more than likely a superpac. Trying to find an obscure ad that plays on streaming in a localized area isn't as easy as it used to be. Doesn't help that youtube and ddg just gives me a bunch of useless shit that aren't even ads or commercials (who'da thunk it would be hard to SEARCH for a commercial to watch). Regardless, every single ad used in this context needs fined into oblivion and the people involved need jail time so others don't continue it on for every election to come.

Also, the downvotes for you are undeserved. There's some fucking sycophant political worshipers that either got shipped into here or have drank the kool-aid this election cycle. They literally cannot hear anything negative without becoming triggered. It's really setting up the next administration to not have to do anything but wait another 3 years and proclaim democracy is in trouble again.

it's a shitty design? From a company worth over 3 trillion, that gives them extra shitty points.

lol and here I thought that comment was absolutely ludicrous.

“Let’s make this Black spouse somebody who has a really close relationship with another Brady, and that’s how this Brady met them. Give them a foundation so this isn’t a token position.”

You do realize why this is racist right? It's a natural progression to age and begin dating, I doubt they're doing similar back stories for every single Brady. To single out that a white/black relationship requires a precursor of events to be acceptable is just hidden/sly cultural bigotry. It might be easier to swallow for the older viewers of the show (who again, are being racist here), but I've seen these reboots trying to cater to younger audiences who will give them that social hype.

Lemmy's kinda helped me see a different perspective. It's just old man talk. Like, the internet is still there. Everything that once was, still is. Just a lot more shit the rest of everyone is usually using. Stop trying to keep up with everyone using all these popular sites for everyday life like they did with TV. Find obscure websites and dedicated forums for your topic. Don't rely on Google^tm^ to find the internet for you. Before, you actually had to find a site (magazines, social/network circles) then hope that site had a search function if you're looking for something particular (this is the old internet everyone craves lol, it wasn't perfect by any means/rose tinted glasses).

You can use the internet just like you did back in the day and have the same experience. It's just that the majority of the world uses the connection for a "TV"-like feed with main popular sites and apps. There's still more people using and improving the "old internet" compared to the 90's, so it's only a net positive in my book.

If you're not being purposefully obtuse I'll save you the time from what the argument is. Wealth of his magnitude is a detriment to society, doesn't matter if he's saint Joseph or the pope. You're saying "he's the best kind", deflecting from all of them being bad. If you don't see that, then it's fine. Just an economical opinion on where to go with society from the stalemate we seem to be in regarding workers and compensation.

I do feel like you're being blind about the nepotism definitions though, you don't need 200 billion from a family slush fund to qualify. The very act of what their parent's profession is changes networking and exposure opportunities. Doesn't matter if Daddy has ethical values, the name recognition and reputation you're proclaiming gives an advantage.

Hopefully wikipedia recognizes this as the official Canary in the Chrome mine. I was first impressed with chrome book because of seeing them used for education, getting my own laptop during school would've been mindblowing to kid me. I was unimpressed with the strangulation process of the OS but again shocked when they added a linux boot mode. There needs to be better alternatives by now, I would be ok with an OS developed by the department of education in conjunction with higher educational institutions. Could have a decent non-profit approach to a browser and ad blockers could legitimately be built in as a "protect the children" aim of approach.

Been slowly running into more results from DDG that seem to have some "personal parameter" or difference in search results. I had a search saved from some months ago, went to check it for some references and got new hits involving local organizations that had nothing to do with the search. Opening up a private browser I see that the searches aren't 100% matching up either.

I see this as only getting worse, I want to be able to enter a search and it searches for my query. Not based on my personality or whatever info is being collected. Does anyone know a search engine that's reliable and focuses on giving the same results and doesn't try this "personalized" crap?

Rather peeved about all of this. Been waiting for this game for ages and was excited about the F2P aspect then found out a lot of elements of the game are locked behind paywalls making the full game costing way over most AAA games. Ok, lets roll on anyways and see what the game has to offer. Then I get to the privacy policy and realize they're using anti-cheat services to monitor your game, I continued reading the user agreement and then had to find their actual privacy policy page because they have it listed under a different url then what they have posted. Some Highlights from the user agreement:

I've stopped playing previous games that use these tactics and programs because there's just too many other games that don't require these that are available. This was a game I was hoping to get back into with some RTS friends I've made along the way, Is this just the way of the world or something to avoid?

These guys have quickly become one of my new favorite creators to follow. Their dedication and creativity reminds me of Joel Haver with the depth of some of their videos (slightly different genre I would say though).

Two other videos I would recommend in order: Perfect-Timing Villian (staring Dante Basco, Rufio from "Hook") and a kinda sequel to that, A Villain's Perfect Mind Palace (this video made me realize this wasn't just a casual comedy group but seriously talented and making bits that just completely pull you in).

Starting to transfer to a spreadsheet instead of my usual paper notebook I list all my electronics in to get a grasp on all my parts (towers, laptops, memory, motherboards, videocards, etc). Lately I've been on a kick of labeling all my shelves (medicine, linen, kitchenware) and trying to sort things into random plastic bins I've had laying around waiting for a purpose.

I realize I could dive into deep rabbit holes for every category. With electronics I'm thinking of documenting every chip, board, and component along with compatibilities. Pantries and personal goods could be inventoried and auto-reordered, better tracking of my tools and materials with service reminders for equipment, etc etc.

I've gone through years where I throw everything away and get rid of anything not used recently and years where I horde everything and anything. Seems moderation in both is key and why keeping it all in mind and documented seems like the right thing to do if you have the time to kill.

tldr, what tips or tricks do you use to keep up with all your shit?

Currently remodeling a domicile, with the sweet and expensive ability to add anything I want within reason. I plan on modernizing the place to bring it into the 21st century because this house deserves it (just a great structure with lots of history and nearing it's centennial birthday).

Luckily, everything is built perfectly for access so nothing is off the table. I came onto this property with my own server "rack" and a mini diy setup for network debauchery, but plan on expanding that and installing a mini-server "room" (a fancy closet I might install in a "dead space" that I can pipe duct work in and out of).

I will be running all new electrical, A/C, Telecom lines, the whole works. I'm currently in the process of ripping out all the old coaxial, phone, piping, anything not ran properly or of a modern importance (probably reinstall phone and doorbell circuits but they're currently strewn everywhere from previous installers). I'm also creating up to date blueprints for the structure and including mechanical systems/engineering schematics for anything I'm doing or plan to do. All of this will be saved to a USB for the next owner and printed out for a laminated notebook to stay with the house (maybe a copy for myself for the nostalgia one day).

The only 2 things I KNOW I want to do is installing

  • a monitor with a pi that will run a weather and local data program that I've been working on into the kitchen area

  • a multi-camera cctv system (local and offsite backup) with a monitor in a neutral-shared living area.

I will probably leave those parts of the system installed here unless it's requested to be removed. I actually would love to leave everything here as a full system package for someone to "inherit" with the house but I'm not sure if that's a benefit or a hindrance someone wants to receive.

There's 3 different plans in the works (3/5/10 year plans, we are here for family but that will eventually not be required and we desperately want out of this area), depending on the time frame I might need to put in

  • monitoring stations for renewable energy systems (solar/wind),

  • a personalized-home weather monitoring system (barometric, temp, humidity) with a display and functionality to control the mechanical systems (A/C adjustment, daylight sensors for shades/lighting, etc),

and a bunch of other off the wall ideas I've been wanting to tinker with. Unfortunately most videos out there of "home setups" include someone with 10x my price bracket and their system is designed for themselves and their specific equipment in mind. I'm wanting to install something more generic that anyone would have use for (like weather and security). There are really only 2 "office areas" that I think would require a hardline besides any monitors I have to install for systems (I don't mind running wiring, but I don't think every room needs an ethernet port to be functional, or am I wrong thinking this way?). I will probably need to install repeaters in two locations though to cover the entire property in wifi because old houses gobble signals up but inside everything "just" reaches.

Everything I've done with my network so far I've gotten around needing a switch (it would've saved me a lot of hassle in the past but I usually find a way to get everything connected or just disconnect unused equipment that's ran it's course), but at this point I can't expand any further without a headache. So now I'm looking at new tech and equipment I don't have hands-on experience with and don't know it's proper use/limitations which I don't like when making action plans. I figured just trying to get a general sense of what people want or see would be a better angle to come at since I don't do this professionally and don't have the insider knowledge of the taboos of home networking infrastructure.

TLDR: What kind of wiring, connection setups are important to you and won't be obsolete after a few years? What do you consider a "modern" house to have or are decent "quality of life" improvements like lighting control, sensors, etc? What's your best case scenario of equipment when walking into a house and seeing a pre-installed setup?

edit: I'm not sure why but for some reason I'm not seeing everyone's comments (assuming de-federated instances from .ml but seeing it since I posted on .world), if I don't respond I apologize and will probably look for a new instance if this is the case.
