I agree, I'm in the military so I end up working with a lot of 18-19 year olds. One day a few years back, a bunch of us were sitting around the table talking, and I don't remember what the conversation was about but this kid lookes at the black guy and says "that's how you get lynched"

There was a collective gasp and we then had to explain to him what that meant. He just though it was something offensive to say to someone.

Holy crap yes, I watched it a few years back and couldn't belive not only how good it looked but how good it was in general.

Doesn't chat gpt still just make random stuff up?

Tell that to the people who just got denied the ability to sue over an Uber crash because their daughter agreed to the Uber eats eula

Wait, the three mile island thing wasn't a joke?

It was always a matter of when, not if.

Anecdotally it hasn't been that hard. I've had the best luck with Linux Mint just working straight out of the box. I basically only use my computer to game so your mileage may vary if you need specialized software or something.

Also the benefit of mint is that Ubuntu has a huge user base comparatively so you can find a lot of info online for people who have probably already figured out issues that you might encounter.

My job has radicalized me against windows, the settings are factory reset quite frequently due to updates or reimaging so I'm constantly resetting every single option just to get it back to a continent state (Who in their right mind thinks centered task bar icons is a good thing!?!?!)

I guess way back when microsoft said than win10 would be the last version of windows, what the meant was it would be the last anyone wants to use.

If I recall, I had to go into uBlocks settings and enable Easylist- annoyances > chat widgets an Adguard -annoyances >mobile app banners, widgets

I haven't had any issues myself, but I've seen some stuff online saying reddit has been rather aggressive with trying to fight blockers

Ublock gets rid of the banner asking you to switch....it doesn't fix all the other bullshit though.

I don't know about that, even when I'm in desktop mode the site is Nigh unusable. It'll refresh the page when I use the back button after viewing a thread and after a short while the whole page will freeze and become unresponsive. Reddit has purposefully made the site as frustrating as possible to use to the point where I don't even use it to browse my niche subreddits anymore.
