Fallout 4. Playing for the first time, and have done everything except for the main questline and DLCs. I started losing interest in playing, but I want to eventually get through the main story. Taking a break and playing some Rimworld before returning to the wasteland.

My first thought was sourdough too, and making fermented foods in general. I wanted to get into making my own sourdough bread for a while, but every time I started researching I just gave up. A lot of recipes out there make it look so intimidating and honestly, most of the steps are just not necessary for a basic loaf. Been making simple bread in loaf pans for months now and loving it.

Totally agree. Towards the end of my time on reddit I barely interacted at all. Here I feel much more motivated to participate too.

API stuff and the general response to the community feedback and blackout. I used Apollo and wasn’t interested in switching to the ad-riddled official reddit app. Tried Kbin first and eventually found myself on lemmy. Liking it here.

No car/public transit was going to be my answer too. Sold my car about 9 years ago and switched to using the bus, carpool, or walking. At first it was a financial decision because I figured it would save me lots of money, and it did. I was surprised though how much more connected to the community I felt. I made friends and talked to people on my commute instead of sitting alone in the car. It also makes me feel more free to move around the city instead of just going from point A to point B and then home again.

Detroit style. The crispy corner pieces!

When I was a kid (like 11 or so) my whole family went from Chicago to Portland and then a week later got back on the train and went back. It took a couple days each way. My mom hates flying and she didn’t want to drive. I remember sleeping a lot on very uncomfortable seats. Met lots of random people. There weren’t many other kids, so I befriended a lot of elderly people.

It was definitely an experience, but I’m kind of glad I was so young. I don’t know if I would want to sit for so long now. If I were to do it as an adult, I’d probably plan to stop a place or two along the way just to break up the trip.

Oh that’s adorable. I might try this one on my dog.

Somehow “Okay” has become the command to ask my dog to get off my lap so I can stand up. I’m not sure how it started or why.
