There were whole threads of people saying this stuff doesn't happen. They would say it just didn't make sense that companies would do this, it's not worth it to them. That all the ads I was seeing at convenient times were just a coincidence.

Their full screen popups when I first open the app have started to load the subscribe button a second before anything else on screen. I keep catching myself about tap it out of pure reflex and I think they doing it on purpose.

I remember watching a documentary a few years ago where this exact situation happened. Chinese company buys American company, tries to establish their work culture and it just doesn't work.
