No they don't, at least not necessarily. I had the xiaomi.eu ROM on my old phone and it broke SafetyN*t checks, and as a consequence at the very least one of my banking apps refused to work (this one I actually need to verify credit card charges in some cases, it's not just a nice to have unfortunately).
I probably would have been better off rooting it since then you can bypass it I think, but I didn't want to have to reapply root after every update.
NixOS uses this, works well for me.
Would a different bird work?

every time someone has to explicitly say this it's a lie
Oh, I didn't know that. Thanks!
Because they almost always universally suck across platforms. Only exception I've seen thus far is Figma.
Some that haven't been mentioned yet:
- Behind The Overlay (removes simple login banners/paywalls/anything that blocks the content)
- Don't Fuck With Paste (for those sites that think it's fun to override or even disable copy and/or paste)
- ~~Greasemonkey/Tampermonkey~~ Violentmonkey
Of course, and that's why something like PeerTube works differently.
You say that as if it's the only option while being on a platform that explicitly isn't a single organization hosting the entire thing. There's no way this is a serious comment.

For the past month I'm paying around 30% more than I was in July 2022, and 10% more than I was in April 2022. (I just picked two random months from where I wasn't yet either too lazy or busy to track everything I bought on the computer. Really need to catch up on that tbh because I haven't updated the file for more than a year.)
The amount of stupid bullshit such as energy drinks I buy varies so to get any actually usable stats I'd have to average it over a longer time frame but it seems fine to me.
Why, how bad is it elsewhere?
