You all must have a better maps experience than me. Complained for years about a closed road being shown as open by me and it's still shown as open.

Have you tried OpenStreetMap? It’s built by volunteers and you can update it yourself.

Lyft actually uses and even contributes to Openstreetmap

Most delivery companies actually use OpenStreetMap in Europe. Especially if they deliver with bicycles, since OpenStreetMap has much more accurate mapping for bikes. Especially bike lanes and very often also smoothness, ground material. And also if bikes are allowed on the opposite direction of a one way street.

Always use satellite images to make sure the road is actually there/ accessible.
