I'm looking for a clean version of Ableton Live (ideally 11, but anything older is fine too) for weeks now. But everything I download and send to VirusTotal.com is infected with all kinds of nasty malware.

Am I doing something wrong? Where does one get cracked audio software (for Windows) without malware?

I could never find a version that didn’t come with extras (my skills are weak).

If you don't mind a copy of their "Lite" version that often ships with audio hardware, you can google a method to generate a valid license key for that version that doesn't require buying anything. ;)

The quick response is you can't, you are running an executable someone else had to modify.

The long answer is trust, find a bigger warez group like fitgirl, codex etc. Though I am afraid not many of them focus on software other then games. If these groups malw'd their cracks it would destroy their reputation.

For searching, obviously older, dedicated private trackers are often better and in a way safer, though I don't know any specific to programs, like Ableton or others.

I now use Waveform from Tracktion. Not open source, but all must have features are free. And supports linux, mac, and Windows.

However, if you’re used to Ableton Live, you’re probably better off using that. Good luck on your adventure pirate!
