I mean, I know it's unlikely because they're just six or so, but the romantic in me still likes to think they would have.

Thanks for sharing, that was pretty nice. Does a good job of capturing the feel of an og Calvin strip.

Nah, they are obsessed with each other due to proximity.

Once they grow more and their circle of friends expands they will likely move on.

Yeah - that does seem the most likely and realistic answer, but, as I say, the romantic in me wants them to end up together. 😊

According to Bloom County, Calvin went off into space and almost forgot Hobbes. They had to return him to Calvin. My god I wish this was in book form because it was one of the best comic strip series ever.

Wait, what? There was a Bloom County + Calvin and Hobbes crossover?

Where might I find this? Two of my favorite strips!

No, Calvin develops shame over how he treated Susie in childhood and moves out of town.

I just made this up.

No, they are too familiar with each other, and Calvin's animosity (even if playful) is too deep to overcome.

Compare with Kevin+Wendy (The Wonder Years) who had a very sweet and positive relationship growing up. If Wendy hadn't moved away then I could see them have a little encounter during preadolescence, but, as perfect as it might be, I can't see them becoming a permanent couple. Very, very few people in real life go that path.

Most people don't retain friends as they move from one stage of life to another. So no.
