Ask Lemmy
A Fediverse community for open-ended, thought provoking questions
Please don't post about US Politics. If you need to do this, try [email protected]
Rules: (interactive)
1) Be nice and; have fun
Doxxing, trolling, sealioning, racism, and toxicity are not welcomed in AskLemmy. Remember what your mother said: if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. In addition, the site-wide Lemmy.world terms of service also apply here. Please familiarize yourself with them
2) All posts must end with a '?'
This is sort of like Jeopardy. Please phrase all post titles in the form of a proper question ending with ?
3) No spam
Please do not flood the community with nonsense. Actual suspected spammers will be banned on site. No astroturfing.
4) NSFW is okay, within reason
Just remember to tag posts with either a content warning or a [NSFW] tag. Overtly sexual posts are not allowed, please direct them to either [email protected] or [email protected].
NSFW comments should be restricted to posts tagged [NSFW].
5) This is not a support community.
It is not a place for 'how do I?', type questions.
If you have any questions regarding the site itself or would like to report a community, please direct them to Lemmy.world Support or email [email protected]. For other questions check our partnered communities list, or use the search function.
Reminder: The terms of service apply here too.

Too bad support is ending soon. I'm also on pixel 5 with grapheneOS. I might go to calyxos after support ends and consider which phone to get.
My partner and I got an espresso machine earlier this year. It's great, I haven't gone out for a cup of coffee in months now
Pixel 6 Pro for GrapheneOS. Awesome phone.
Probably my table saw. I got a DeWalt jobsite saw and I've been using it for project after project all summer.
Sounds stupid compared to other stuff here, but a Traxxas TRX-4M 1/18 RC Scale Crawler. I bought it on a whim and then got into modifying it. I've been putting in a bit of money, but it's super fun to play with it and it gets me out of the house to explore the neighbourhood for some good places to crawl it.
An air cooler. I hate airco (and way to expensive) and got the tip at the hairdresser to get one. Great way to spend the giftcard I received when joining a union. (maybe the union subscription tops it, not sure yet)
Eufy robo vac. The cheaper model. It sets off at 3am each night and cleans the downstairs floors. Every morning I get up to a freshly vacuumed floor, it's magical. I hate hovering so worth every penny.
A bamboo back-scratcher.
My advice to people under 40: you won't always have the flexibility to scratch wherever it itches. Appreciate it while it's there.
