Disclaimer: New to lemmy and still figuring it out. Sorry if I did everything wrong, please be gentle.

Does anyone have any recommendations for an email app that doesn't data mine or whatever. I'm in the process of transitioning to the fediverse and purging shitty, morally dubious companies from my life. Currently weening off Google. I have a duckduckgo email relay, but I want to get Google completely off my phone.

Aside from the fact that this is not the correct community for such a question, I'd recommend checking out Privacy Guides to get started on your privacy journey. Check out their recommendation for e-mail providers.

Keep in mind that Proton has recently made some dubious political statements and decisions, and I wouldn't endorse a product by such a company. The product is still good, but the trustworthiness of the parent company has recently been debatable.

This community isn't really the right place try [email protected] or maybe a tech support comm as ur question might be deleted from here for being off topic

Email client or provider? For client I’d go with thunderbird for provider mailbox.org or Tuta, or maybe proton (but mainly the first two).

As the other comment mentioned, this isn’t the community, I’d check out [email protected] (asklemmy also may not be the right community, it’s explicitly not a support community)
