Honestly the old ModPiracy subreddits were more useful for finding de-listed mods from bigger modding sites like Nexus than bypassing any paywalls.

But Reddit seems to have cracked down particularly hard on them lately so where's the next best place to go for this sort of thing? I'm mainly asking for a friend who's trying to hunt down an old Minecraft mod currently.

Why is reddit cracking down on mods? Aren't those free anyways? No piracy required?

Not all the time, some mod creators lock their stuff behind a paywall. But also a few modders a while back started taking down their own mods official downloads so it was up to others to keep archives.

That's what a lot of people were using the ModPiracy subreddit for but it kept being taken down and migrating to new subs.
