How hard can it be to just add a column to a table for the product data? Add one date field called consumable. If it's populated with a duration in days, then try to sell it to them again, if it's now been after that duration since they bought it last time. Washing detergent? One month per box. Guitar strings? 4 months. Toilet seat? Just don't populate it, it's not a consumable.

I turned those notifications off years ago

Can't say that I've ever received an ad email from Amazon. Is that even a thing?
