Once again, catching up with decades-old GNU/Linux features.

You can't really update the kernel without a reboot.

Yes you can. Google ksplice

To be fair, that only mostly works. You do sometimes still need to reboot even with that, but most of the time yeah, it works fine without rebooting.

I'm sure that's true

You mean proprietary bullshit from Oracle? Lol, but that's not a Linux feature.

Its not even catching up. You have to reboot "every few months". I haven't rebooted my arch install since it died in my backpack last December.

Hey, it's been a really long time since I had to reboot windows to change my IP. /s

Let's see how well it works before congratulating. I have a hunch it won't work well

I share this sentiment. If they made decent software I’d be less cautious about this.

You can update without rebooting, but then have to reboot anyway after half of the system services decide to stop working

This shouldn't had been an issue in Windows 10, having 11 look as slick, but force rebooting to update. Why is it still like this? Why is it forced to auto update? Why doesn't Linux or Chromeos force auto updates? Sure you have to reboot Chromebook but it's manual rebooting not forced auto rebooting.
