I mostly do everything on my phone and I've found cloudstream satisfies my needs with a surprisingly negligible amount of effort. Is there something very much like that but for audiobooks (and possibly ebooks)?

Obligatory "check your library". It isn't "literally anything ever published any time" like piracy is close to, but in a lot of places (at least in the US), there's a pretty meaningful selection of content you can borrow perfectly legally.

I use Libby and my physical library all the time and I love it! But the selection of sci-fi and fantasy is quite limited. Especially for audiobooks

A cursory search found that you can use extensions for cloudstream.

https://cloudstream.on.fleek.co/repos/

Searching for Audiobooks on that page lists a repo that has audiobook support.

I have never used it but it seems it might already exists...

Oh shit, I must be bad at searching these days. I came up empty. Thank you I'll check it out and report back!

Audiobookshelf or booksonic to host the media. As mentioned, populate it with content from your library
