No, but it inevitably happens all the fucking time

Just happened on Friday

Coworker: client says they need this problem solved by Monday. Can we hop on a call this weekend?

Me: Why exactly do they need this solved by Monday?

Coworker: uhhhh...

Yeah no. Talk to you on Monday.

Just say no! You deserve to enjoy your weekend and you should never work without at least time in lieu.

Hello [XMunk], we'd like to thank you for your time here at this company and we understand this may come as a surprise but due to the current corporate 'right sizing' the company is undertaking we are sad to inform you of the cessation of your responsibilities. We wish you the best in your future endeavours and hope in the future you may rejoin our family. Due to internal performance reviews we understand that you are not eligable for severance benefits, but if you sign the attached forms we will be happy to help you out in receiving your Vacation pay.

Our best, BookBrokeCorp

Awesome, I look forward to my four months of severance!

The higher up I go, the more I ask why. And the more often "eh, I guess next release will be fine" is the answer.

Jobs that only do weekdays are such a blessing, I hated working rotating shift!

There is a rule, meetings will take up as much time as there is, so if you don't put a cap on it, it will be hours not 30 minuets.

The same rule applies to work schedule planning, you will work weekends unless you plan not to.

And you will raise respect of you when you just say no you have already promised the time to the misses or someone else of importance.
