I'll be honest, I think for OnePlus 8 pro, and I know no other phone that this applies to. That the stock OS is the best one, not the features or customizability, but OPPO did something where it's way more stable than any custom rom I can get installed.

since I've installed lineage, I constantly run into issues where stuff stutters when switching certain apps, double clicking my camera hotkey or changing lenses will crash the camera app, and I don't have access to the slow motion camera function in anywhere near the way the stock camera app works.

I'm really annoyed at all these problems and I know it's technically an "old" phone, but I'm so sick of reflashing and reinstalling stuff. Does anyone have any advice?

I'm on 13, OnePlus in their infinite wisdom decided the 8 pro is 3 years old and therefore too old to receive any more android updates

Ah, I thought you we're on Lineage OS. You could still try to tweak some settings or try some root options

No I still am, I'm just on lineageOS on Android 13, afaik lineage hasn't done a 14 release, or at least has not made one for the OnePlus 8 pro

Ah there's a mistake on my side. Yes Lineage OS hasn't released android 14. But I dont know if One Plus did. If you flashed vendor android 14 it might be incompatible with Lineage OS 20 which is based on 13

Oh yeah no you're fine. OnePlus 8 pros are never officially going to get 14, so maybe if lineage does something I'll switch back. But I may try another firmware and that camera app you mentioned. I can't help but feel like the whole system is unstable since they shipped it back to me after an RMA

Didn't knew that. I would give cpu-z a try to see I'd everything is working well

Good idea, I'll give it a go and see if it's running slower than baseline. Ugh gonna be a full day of wiping my phone I can already tell

I mean unless you know of another way I haven't heard of, typically whenever I change to a new rom it's basically the same as resetting the phone, you have to wipe all data during the install
