The article says he was sentenced to 15 years in federal prison. So yeah, I’d say he stopped. At least until his appeal makes it to court, at which point his conviction could potentially be overturned.
Federal prison sentences are more rare to win appeal than state ones. The Feds generally don't bring a case to court they aren't dead sure they'll win and have stick.
