Ubisoft blames “technical error” for showing pop-up ads in Assassin’s Creed::Ubisoft started displaying a fullscreen pop-up ad in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey this week. It was caused by a technical error.

horseshit, this was a canary launch. if we hadn't thrown a fit we could look forward to "To turn on Seven Up Subtitles, press pause, wait for the unskippable ad to play, go the the 'Settings Brought to You By Doritos(tm)' menu, select the 'RAID Shadow Legends Options Menu', wait for the unskippable ad to play, then select 'Seven Up Subtitles'."
