edit: I've just seen that you don't like the fact that you can't sign in to your google account... If you want to synchronise your subscriptions with your computer, you can create an account on a Piped server and then your subscriptions will be synchronised with LibreTube. Otherwise, I don't know.
i mostly use youtube for recommended page and i believe these apps with their separate accounts dont support that
Related videos somewhat still show up when you're in a video. It's true that the homepage is just default YouTube though
This is how I use youtube with NewPipe while still taking the advantage of recommended page (algorithm).
A bit of a complicated setup, but it's not that awful.
I use browser to open up the youtube front page (thus taking the advantage of the recommended page) Tap and hold on the video you want to watch and in the context menu, choose Share link and then choose to share it with Open link with, which will let you choose where you want to open up the video in, then choose NewPipe.
In chrome based browsers a shortcut will appear for the most used share link option you use, which will reduce one tap.
Look into grayjay. Luis Rossman just released that app as a YouTube client replacement
Grayjay requires minimum android 10, after some community feedback I believe they're bringing it down to android 9
