"tech bro" is insulting to people that work in tech that aren't assholes
Nah. Been working in tech for nearly 30 years, "tech bro" is a delineation. Keeps the fuckers from smearing the rest of us
Tech bro is practically a slur and doesn’t refer to “dudes that just work in tech”
Why?
because it lumps us in with a bunch of assholes that are doing bad things with tech
I don't see it. "Tech bros" are a subset of people in tech. I don't feel lumped with them. It's like saying "reckless drives" is offensive because it lumps normal drivers with assholes.
If anything it's offensive to women. Elizabeth Holmes was a typical "tech bro". Not only men are assholes in tech. It's a discriminatory term.
A "bro" is a mindset in this sense, not a biological designation.
Women can be "bros".
