Privacy has become a very important issue in modern society, with companies and governments constantly abusing their power, more and more people are waking up to the importance of digital privacy.
In this community everyone is welcome to post links and discuss topics related to privacy.
Some Rules
- Posting a link to a website containing tracking isn't great, if contents of the website are behind a paywall maybe copy them into the post
- Don't promote proprietary software
- Try to keep things on topic
- If you have a question, please try searching for previous discussions, maybe it has already been answered
- Reposts are fine, but should have at least a couple of weeks in between so that the post can reach a new audience

On my generic android I am using Textra pro version. I do not know how good it is by comparison to other apps, but they keep updating and I am used to it.
I've been using it for years and it is indeed amazing but as I move away from Google and apps that rely on the play store/services I'm likely going to drop it soon for a FOSS alternative.
This looks promising as a stock GrapheneOS message app replacement. One of the things that kinda irks me about the stock app is that reactions are displayed as text and the user doesn't have the ability to react to messages. With Textra both are possible. Thanks for the suggestion!
