Usually those are fetched from websites like opensubtitles or tvsubtitles

If you use the *arr services, look up Bazaar

I’ve made my life so much easier by only downloading the version with subs. It’s so annoying to find specially for tv

Meh, Plex is also very good at fetching subtitles automatically.

Jellyfin with free infuse.

Hopefully a true FOSS jellyfin client will implement that too.
