Hello, everyone.

I used to have access to Iptorrents many years ago after being invited by a friend and loved it. As I felt Netflix was a reasonable replacement at the time, I shifted to purely using it for all my streaming needs resulting in an IPT account shutdown. Today is a different story though... As the library shrank and split into many different providers bumping the price up to a very UNreasonable level along with small and bloated libraries, I'm ditching the services for a purely Jellyfin reliant home. Does anyone know of a quality tracker that I can use these days?

Has started to grind my gears, since there is no way to quickly explain that I'm happy with the current situation (I live in the nordics, not the US). Historically I would be considered a conservative, since I don't see a need to progress (atleast at an accelerated rate). However that term is now used to define reactionaries, which are people who reacting to the changing society wants to regress to a earlier time.

Why must we change the meanings of such obvious words?

Would you rather be able to do everything with one thing? Say, listen to music, take pictures, play, work and whatever with one device? Or would you rather have a specific device for listening to music, a specific device for taking pictures, a specific device for work and another one to play and such?

I personally prefer to keep things separate these days. On a practical level it means that I don't depend entirely on a single object and that, if gets lost, damaged or runs out of battery, would let me with nothing at all. On a subjective level, I feel that having specialized objects for each need gives more weight to the routines I create with them, contrary to when I kept everything in one place and it felt superfluous and banal.

So far I have an old phone that I use as an MP3 player, an old tablet as an EBook, my old Ps2 to play games and so on.

Has anyone here ever used Slimtoolkit or any similar app? I think there are a few of them out there that claim lighter containers and thus faster load times.

I came across it while doing some reading. It intrigues me. Do these apps actually work or is it just SoftRam v2? Is the end result safe for production?

I have never built a Docker container before, however, why make them 'bloated' in the first place?

Other third-party Bluesky apps, which make up the larger open social web known as the ATmosphere, don’t have to follow these same rules. At least, not for now.

Wondering if I am the only person that finds Gmail lagging dramatically. The only solution is clearing the cookies about once per week.

gamers nexus just dropped a 3 hour video where they talk to various companies involved in the consumer PC space, some of whom really open up about their costs and economics and how operating in america just isnt feasible under the current tariffs

Basically the title. A lot of us couldn't get together for proper 4/20 this year, so we're doing a make-up party on Saturday. What fun/engaging activities can we do?

Yet again the Internet Archiving is suffering big this time, a coalition of major record labels filed a lawsuit against the Internet Archive demanding $700 million for the extensive catalog of 78 rpm records. 78s are sometimes more than a century old at this point and i bet a lot of them are out of copyright, but i suppose for the few that still are majors are hitting it big towards the IA

This lawsuit is pretty much another existential threat to the Internet Archive and everything it preserves, including the Wayback Machine, and we're fucked if we ever lose access to the Wayback Machine.

the original article asked to sign a petition, but i think a more logical way to support is to donate them directly so that they have more money to better defend themselves in court in this and other cases they'll undoubtedly face in the future

finally some simple UI, you click on browser extension "icon" and get taken to a webpage that will show you all the video that rank by cosine similarity (I just now realized has UUID when it should have shortuuid), linked below is the webpage

https://github.com/solidheron/peertube_recomendation_algorythm/blob/main/example1.PNG

above is just example with my recommendations luckily the links change colors if you've already seen them. of course the video at the top is the video I watched the longest.

other than that I been cleaning up backend stuff and ignoring minor error that pop up. it should more accurately capture watch time on peertube videos and doesn't just say you watch an hour of a video you didn't care about. probably adding a bunch of code that needs to get cleaned up.

my opinion has shifted a bit on this simple algo it seems like the videos I get tend to be random and take require me to find videos independently to get some decent suggestion, also there's a Linux pipeline

I do have a software engineering problem where view time is only input to the algorithm, like, dislike, and finished status of a video is available. I have decided on going with cosine similarity for likes and dislikes and adding it to the time engagement. if you like a video all the tokens of that video get a +1 in length and dislike makes all the tokens -1 in length. I thought it was a good solution because it doesn't rely on converting a like to time. I wouldn't know how to deal with like being a multiplier for time engagement vector and would dislike be negative or something or just zero. generally adding a like cosine vector to a time engagement vector generally means both time and likes normalized (sorta) both can contribute to a video recommendation.

seems like cosine recommendation will need processing

I'm wondering if I'm able to transition as a full-time employee if I would be able to enroll immediately in health insurance or if I would have to wait for the open enrollment period.

Edit: I am not contracted through a temp agency. It's a temporary position with the company.
