These have 500 mile range - baffles me that none of the EVs being made by the west can provide better range than they are now. Seems like 250 is the standard cap for “normal” models. Some way less and some slightly more.

I'm just glad they're taking Chinese companies seriously. With all sides of the government ready to sanction and tarrif chinese EVs completely out of America, and even Mexico if they can leverage their power enoigh, automakers could easily continue to ignore the unfulfilled slice of the market looking for small inexpensive EVs.
