My guess 2 is the last digit, since these wear off from natural oil in human fingers, the last digit generally had lesser wear than the first few ones. I would try 6 codes with 2 at the end first. I'd guess in this order 1342, 3142, 1432, 3412, 4132, 4312. Then all other guesses.
