Took my daughter for a blood draw today and we got to use a vein visualization device for the first time. It wasn't this exact model, but it was pretty similar: https://christiemed.com/products/veinviewer-models/veinviewer-vision2/

Maybe I'm just basic, but I was really impressed. Apparently it uses an infrared camera to see the patient's blood vessels and then it uses a projector to display them on the patient's skin so that the phlebotomist has an easier time finding a good blood vessel. Brilliant!

Here's a screenshot showing what the post looks like for a Lemmy user.

What's with the title? It's just a tag and a URL. Tags do nothing on Lemmy and look awful. URLs in titles also do nothing and look awful. And what's with the a escaped #-character? Is it to safely pass the title in bash-scripts?

The article link is broken. And the multiple levels of crossposting just seems kind of.... lazy.

This is some next generation RE: FW: FW stuff.

It seems like there is a problem with whatever Lemmy UI you're using. The post is formatted fine in the default Lemmy UI with the hashtags showing as normal hyperlinks: image

I'm aware that hashtags don't have a function in Lemmy, but the post is originally from Mastodon. Furthermore, in spoken English sometimes people will add "hashtag" as a prefix to words and phrases for emphasis. That said, @[email protected] et al should definitely add hashtag functionality to Lemmy. It could be useful for post flair, for example, besides compatibility with the rest of the fediverse.

Sorry if you don't like cross posting. I think it's a nice feature that helps more people see posts and find communities. It also helps me interact with commenters when I make a post originally to Pixelfed or Mastodon.

Seems like it's not showing up correctly when federating to other instances. Or maybe a version issue.

Interesting. Lemmy.world is running 0.19.3, but my instance is still stuck on 0.18.2. I wonder why Lemmy would have lost ability to format hashtags in titles nicely.

I created a bug report: https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy-ui/issues/2448

Partially agreement. There shouldn't be markdown in titles and Lemmy should probably have stripped it altogether: https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy/issues/3828

Disregarding the malplaced markup in the title, the article link is also broken. (Contains broken markup).

And again the multiple indentations and "cross-posted from" makes it look like Re: Re: FW material. I think my criticism is valid, even if I probably did sound a bit like a dick about it.
