AFAIK it's only available as an android application. But I haven't looked into compiling it locally or anything. It might he possible.

I've been using it for comms with some friends and family when we're out of conventional network range. It works great, the pairing process is a bit of a barrier for securitu-muggles, but it works perfectly.
My only annoyance is that I can't run the mailbox program on a regular Linux/docker server.
I've been listening to Security Now for over 10 year now. Steve Gibson is highly intelligent and does an excellent job of explaining technical topics like how a new exploit actually works and how the mitigation functions, without making the listener feel like they need a PHD first.
Both Leo Laporte and Steve Gibson occasionally have opinions I don't agree with, and they've had sponsors in the past that turned out later to have their own issues. But they've been quick to remove sponsors that are actively bad, and they're honest about their relationships with their sponsors anyway.
It's also refreshing to hear a more pragmatic (realistic) approach to balancing security with usability. Ie: your grandma doesn't work for the NSA, so she doesn't need a custom-built secure desktop with YubiKey running Qubes. She needs a password vault or notebook and you to occasionally update her machine.
This! I was appalled when this ad played, suggesting that ANYONE comes out of that fictional scenario pleased is ridiculous. No one wants to receive a crappy AI-written email, ESPECIALLY when the primary topic is emotional. Using an LLM to write a message for a loved one tells everyone that you don't actually care enough to write it yourself. And Google is putting their big check of approval on the whole scenario saying, "This is what we want you to use Gemini for." Absolutely abysmal.
The ONLY version of this ad that makes any sense is if the parent writing the email is illiterate or has a medical issue where they can't type. But I'd rather see them use AI to make dictation better and more powerful instead.
We're all switching to Kagi Search and moving our email to ProtonMail or the like right? I don't need this kind of crap in my digital tool kit.
