I've messed with this dozens of times with various AI models that are generally good at abstractions with advanced prompting, custom diffusion settings outside of the typical, and some hacks in the model loader code. I seem to lack the vocabulary to describe the fundamental geometry of centrifugal gravity in the kind of depth required. Like how does one say that the road ahead curves up like a hill continuing overhead with the buildings anchored to...

I need language here that has unambiguous specificity and likely does not occur in any other context. Layperson verbosity will fail to get traction without fine tuning the model first. I prefer to explore what models can really do using settings and the prompts only.

Most of my vocabulary and understanding of geometry is limited to the Cartesian planes and CAD assemblies. Perhaps someone here has a better lexicon and doesn't mind sharing.

scarily... They don't need to to be this creepy, but even I'm a tad baffled by this.

Yesterday me and a few friends were at a pub quiz, of course no phones allowed, so none were used.

It came down to a tie break question of my team and another. "What is the run time of the Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the ring" according to IMDb.

We answered and went about our day. Today my friend from my team messaged me - top post on his "today feed" is an article published 23 hours ago.....

Forgive the pointless red circle.... I didnt take the screenshot.

My friend isn't a privacy conscience person by any means, but he didnt open IMDb or google anything to do with the franchise and hasn't for many months prior. I'm aware its most likely an incredible coincidence, but when stuff like this happens I can easily understand why many people are convinced everyone's doom brick is listening to them....

Coming from a different instance, I genuinely did not notice the events, it was an interesting summary to watch.

I currently use KeepassXC that is synced through NextCloud. The sync isn't very elegant, especially on my phone. So I'm looking for a new password manager, which has a native server sync support that I can self host. What do y'all recommend? I need at least a phone app and a browser integration that can autofill.

I love interacting with you all very much, and I know there's a lot of important political issues in the world going on right now. I love my Linux Mint setup, I support Palestine and trans people, and I've blazed through all of OG Star Trek, TNG, Voyager, and am now on DS9.

But I also want to discuss Luka to the Lakers and Kendrick calling Drake a pedophile and getting 5 Grammy's, a tour, and a Superbowl halftime show out of it, you know? I wanna talk about your country's Eurovision entries. Am I just not in the right communities?

I've lurked on reddit for the past decade or so and just wanted to get an idea of how others like me have gotten to the point where they feel more comfortable joining the conversation. Thanks, all.

I saw another article today saying how companies are laying off tech workers because AI can do the same job. But no concrete examples... again. I figure they are laying people off so they can pay to chase the AI dream. Just mortgaging tomorrow to pay for today's stock price increase. Am I wrong?

Hi all,

Working through some things like a Will (I am fine, just normal life planning), and debating on methods for digital management when I do die.

I run a lot of self-hosted services for family and friends, all on secured servers with ZFS and on/off site backups. Key ingredient is Vaultwarden for password management.

I'd like to put something in place so that encryption keys, some docs, and key passwords are released to a tech savvy friend. Anyone know of existing solutions for this?

Requirements of:

  • Not providing keys to a third-party beforehand
  • Not forgeable to open
  • If possible, no "weekly press a button"

I'm thinking some kind of key pair where my friend has the private key and the public key is provided to a family member, and when activated a timer starts where I could cancel the release.
