every once in awhile i get a bug up my butt about sharing my massive, curated library.. but every time i get distracted by the volume of steps it would take to create the necessary shit to seed and then find a place that would even take those seeds to index.

ami doin it wrong? why is it so hard? napster was easy.

In Bookwyrm there are way too many duplicate authors and books, and a way to merge them is unclear.

Open Library seems to offer a more unified and consistent database.

Hey everyone,

I’ve been using Linode for a long time and have always been happy with their service. The performance is solid, and their tech support has been great whenever I’ve needed help. However, I’ve started to feel the pinch with their pricing—it’s definitely on the expensive side.

Recently, I decided to try out Hostinger’s VPS offering to spin up a Bluesky PDS and see how it compares. So far, I’ve had a good experience with their tech support as well, but I’m curious about the bigger picture.

Has anyone here used both Linode and Hostinger VPS? If so, how do they compare in terms of:

  • Performance (CPU, RAM, disk speed, etc.)
  • Uptime and reliability
  • Ease of use (control panel, setup, etc.)
  • Value for money

I’m especially curious about how Hostinger manages to charge so much less than Linode. Is there a catch, or is it just a different business model? If you’ve used both, do you think Hostinger is a better option overall, or is Linode worth the extra cost?

Would love to hear your thoughts and experiences!

Thanks in advance!

Zeekr, the electric luxury brand of Geely, China’s third-largest auto manufacturer by 2024 volume, is making headlines with its new self-driving technology, G-Pilot. The system, which will be available for free, could make it an even tougher sell for Tesla to market Full-Self Driving (FSD) as a premium upgrade.

Will Zeekr’s new G-Pilot system be a genuine game-changer, or just a more polished version of its problematic predecessor, NZP (Navigation Zeekr Pilot)? We’ve done the legwork, watched the footage, and broken it all down for you.

Fastbackgroundcheck. com says there's info on me on truthfinder, spokeo, peoplefinders and instantcheckmate. When I try going through all four of those sites takes a super long time, including a few times in the past when I tried getting reports on myself.

The progress bars reach 100% and reset continously. If these sites are legimate like some reddit users claim, then why or be upfront about wanting me to pay? Right now I'm convinced that these sites are snake oil, maybe they work if you pay but the behavior of the free options turn me off. They act 100% like typical scam websites, the kind that asks you to complete three surveys on external sites with fake progress bars.

Basic info like my full name, address, age, and siblings can be found with search engines easily but I feel like there's no point in trying to wipe it if there aren't methods that could definitely work.
